Cardiac Cath on Friday at 1130. I guess they go in through the thigh for that? Painful?

I've had two of them. Naw, they stone you so good it doesnt hurt. the second one I was a little awake, but it still didnt hurt. just tell them to snow you real good. the worst part is laying there afterwards keeping pressure on it. oh and hopefully you'll have a good looking nurse shave your pubes.

youre lucky. if you can knock this before you would have had a heart attack, you can avoid all the hell that I've been through. and avoid dying too, thats a good thing!

you'll do fine. they do so many of these its unreal

and they do go through the femoral artery. they go in where you leg attaches to the groin. You'll get a knot there probably afterwards for a while, but it goes away.

I've had "abnormal sounds" since I got 14 or so. Pretty weird feeling when one get told something like this. But the catheder thing is a pretty gentle procedure nowadays. Just listen to Chaser on this one haha....whew! Gotta love them nurses [img]smile.gif[/img]

Dont panic. Even if you have a blockage, many times they can now put in a stent, a small mesh-like tube that expands the narrowed area. They can do it right when they do the cardiac catheterization. and you never even feel the stent in there. I have two. one inside the other because the first closed down some after being put in. Really, you dont have much to worry about. youre lucky if there's blockage, because you got it before having a heart attack

also, that femoral artery that they go through is a huge artery. makes it easy for them to move around and stuff.
